About Us
The Shibganj Integrated Development Society (SIDS) is registered as a “society” under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act XXVI of 1961 and registered under the Foreign Contribution (regulation) Act-2010, Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India. It is also registered under various Govt. and Non-govt. departments. SIDS has been working for the development of the needy and disadvantaged people of Sundarbans under the district of South 24 Parganas of West Bengal in India. It is non-profit making, non-govt., non-political and secular voluntary organization. The organization was established on 01.04.2005. It has a proper constitution or articles of association. The organization has a properly constituted Executive body with its power and duties clearly defined in the constitution. It does not discriminate against any person or group of persons on the ground of sex, religion, caste or creed. VISION
The society will be free from poverty, deprivation and unjust. It will be a self-reliant society based on human values like Cooperation, participation, justice, respect and love where people will participate in the decentralized political process, where the economy will be based on localized production and consumption, the environment will be free from pollution and exploitation, the people will survive with their own indigenous socio-cultural identity.
Mission
The first and foremost aim of SIDS is to build a sense of world brotherhood through nonviolence also it strives to provide opportunities for innovative health care, education, environment protection, women empowerment, protection of human rights, socio-economic development of the poor and downtrodden people with particular emphasis on differentially vulnerable groups like women, children, adolescents, youths and person with disabilities.
